What kind of Bandwidth to you use for your servers?
Like for DOD?

What kind of hardware do you use?

This really depends on the location however. All servers are 100mbps burstable. Burstable means at any given time EACH server can use upto 100mbps = 12MBYTE/sec.

Atlanta, GA: Abovenet GigE, Williams GigE, Level3 OC12

Dallas, TX: Cogent GigE (very stable in central)

Houston, TX: Verio GigE, TW GigE, MFN GigE, Allegiance GigE, Cogent GigE

Pittsburg, PA: Verio GigE, ATT OC3

San Francisco, CA: Verio OC12, Global Crossing GigE, MFN/Abovenet OC12, Level3 OC12, He.net OC3, PAIX (Palo Alto Internet eXchange).

I hope this helps.

Sorry forgot the hardware. Most of our Half-Life servers are on Dual Xeon 2.4GHZ, 2GB DDR, 15K RPM SCSI drive box's. These which can hold a heafty amount of servers we only allow 50% utilization for each box. Instead of loading 15+ servers onto one box we keep it down around 8-10 depending on the size of the servers of course. We measure box's by slots not by the number of servers on the box. We do this because if we put 10 "32 Player" servers on one box that would be a bit to much for the box. So we base everything on the number of slots.

Most Common Box's

Dual Xeon 2.4 GHZ
2GB DDR
15K RPM SCSI Ultra 320

P4 2.4GHZ
1GB DDR
IDE 7200RPM HDD
